Tim Grein joined Platte River Equity as an Associate in 2006. For much of the past seven years, Mr. Grein has been active in corporate development, finance and operational roles with several different industrial and service-based operating companies.
Prior to joining Platte River, Mr. Grein was the Manager of Strategic Analysis for Avery Weigh-Tronix, a privately-held global manufacturing and service business based in the UK, with annual revenue of approximately $300 million. As a member of the senior management team, Mr. Grein assisted the company during a sale process that concluded in 2006. His responsibilities included financial and strategic analysis for several key business initiatives, as well as in-depth financial modeling to advise management on equity terms and to support the financing of the new company.
Previously, Mr. Grein was a Business Development Manager with General Electric Power Systems (now GE Energy), where he pursued several strategic acquisitions to augment existing portfolio companies and to establish new growth platforms with a strong focus on international deal flow. Prior to his business development role, Mr. Grein received extensive training in Six Sigma while working as a Black Belt within the strategic sourcing organization. Prior to joining GE Energy, Mr. Grein was an officer in the US Army for five years, during which he had assignments in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alabama and Virginia. He left the service in 1999 with the rank of Captain.
Mr. Grein holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point.
